


Emily Achilles is a resident of Portsmouth, NH and currently attending Merrimack College. Emily is majoring in History and Political Science with a minor in Jewish, Christian, Muslim Relations. Emily is a self-proclaimed nerd with a passion for knowledge that she credits to her parents always pushing her to ask the question why. Emily aspires to be an educator at the college level and in her spare time is an avid fan of Division I college hockey. Over the past years Emily has participated in a number of community service trips and was recently elected by her peers to lead the next service trip. When asked about the CEO scholarship contributors, Emily commented, "It is amazing to see people dedicated and passionate about giving back."

Kayla Bassett, a student at St. Anselm College studying Psychology, would like to work towards a PhD in the field of Child Neuropsychology. Throughout her time in college Kayla has dedicated herself to helping others by traveling across the country to places like New Orleans to help with a school impacted by Hurricane Katrina and Arizona to assist families on a Navajo Indian Reservation. She will soon be co-leading a trip to Boston and is looking forward to teaching the other students that are serving with her that, "It is great for anyone to want to do [service] but it not just about that week of service, its about what you do with it when you get back.&quit; Kayla feels her service has taught her to be aware of the needs of others, even her own community in Barrington, NH. Kayla has a large family, with one brother currently serving in Afghanistan.

Erin Marie Bryant, resident of Salem, NH is pursuing a degree in Biology with a certificate in Neuroscience and concentration in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. Erin believes her deep emotional connection to animals at a young age pushed her to pursue a degree in Veterinary Medicine and plans to continue to medical school upon graduation from St. Anselm College. Erin was deeply influenced by her family's dedication to community involvement, especially her father who passed on his love of knowledge and inquisitive nature. Erin also currently participates in a synchronized skating team at the college. When asked what receiving the CEO Scholarship meant to her, Erin replied, "It is more then just financial help, to me it's a pat on the back, encouragement that I am doing the right thing and that I will make it to my goal."

Amy Lucas is pursuing her degree as a Physician's Assistance at the University of New England. She feels her biggest influence in life was growing up on a farm in Wilmot, NH. This taught her responsibility, maturity and independence at a young age as she assisted with farm duties and raised her own animals. Amy originally planned on attending college for Veterinary Medicine but her aunt's diagnosis with breast cancer led her to want to pursue a career to assist families that need to deal with such challenges and someday lessen the number of families dealing with cancer by pursuing a cure. Amy is grateful for opportunities such as the CEO Scholarship program and to the contributors, "It gives me faith that people still do care about others and feel that encouraging future generations is important."

Nathan Obin, resident of Winchester, NH is currently attending Plymouth State University. Nathan is participating in the program that allows him to create his own major, that once complete will be entitled College Leadership. Nathan is a participant in the Upward Bound program that provides students with the opportunity to participate in community service activities and take classes, "Upward Bound has helped me realize what I want to do; to help students with financial issues like myself." Nathan strives to someday be a Director of an Upward Bound program and is currently working with the University to write the grant proposal to bring Upward Bound to students at Plymouth State. Nathan believes that to be a true leader you have to be outgoing, approachable and altruistic, always giving back and understanding the needs of others. Nathan is thankful for the CEO Scholarship because it allows him to continue to work on his leadership skills while he is pursuing his degree.

Lindsey Peterson, recent graduate of the New Hampshire Technical Institute (NHTI), will be enrolling in the University of New Hampshire in the fall, majoring in Dairy Management. When asked about her choice to attend NHTI, Lindsey noted, "Starting at NHTI gave me a great foundation in academics. I didn't know what I wanted to do after high school and NHTI jumpstarted my career and gave me the tools I needed to discover what I was passionate about." Lindsey currently is the Assistant Farm Manager at a living history farm in Tamworth, NH and aspires to be the Farm Manager. Lindsey also enjoys photography and after a great experience in a class at NHTI started her own photography business. Lindsey believes her biggest influence was the passion her parents put into everything they did and believes this ability to empower is the best quality a leader could have. With this quality she believes people can influence others to achieve the impossible. When asked about her experience with the CEO Scholarship program, Lindsey noted that receiving advice from the business leaders and learning from their stories about college was very influential.
