College Equals Opportunity Program Awards Record $30,000 in Scholarships

Concord, NH -In partnership with outstanding business leaders from New Hampshire companies, the NHHEAF Network Organizations awards scholarships each year to rising college juniors and seniors who have demonstrated academic achievement and outstanding leadership abilities. At the recognition event in Concord on May 25, six New Hampshire college students received $5,000 college scholarships from the College Equals Opportunity (CEO) program.

The rigorous scholarship selection process included submitting an application with multiple essays, resume and financial information. Finalists then completed a live interview with the selection committee which included Organizations' staff members and guests Molly Hodgson-Smith, Laurie Storey-Manseau and Jeff Feingold. Since its inception in 2005, CEO has awarded $135,000 in scholarships. In addition to the scholarship awards, CEO is a popular public awareness campaign which highlights the value of a mentor in shaping the aspirations of students. The awareness efforts include a dedicated website and clever print ads with photos of successful business leaders as children. The tag line reads, “They all started somewhere...” Throughout, participating CEOs, business owners and executive directors describe the college experience as central to their own growth and development.
